Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong has recently went viral for his goal celebration, just days after Germany legalised recreational cannabis possession.
Xabi Alonso's side thrashed Fortuna Düsseldorf 4-0 in the DFB-Pokal semi-final on Wednesday, but it wasn't just the style of play which caught the attention.

After Frimpong opened the scoring in the 7th minute, Amine Adli pretended to roll and light up a joint before passing it to the goalscorer.
The 23-year-old then pretended to smoke it before the pair burst into laughter.
This was seen as a lighthearted tribute to the new law and Frimpong's birth city of Amsterdam, where marijuana has been legal for several years.🇩🇪😱🥴 #Marihuana #Cannabis | ¿Festejos chidos? 👉👈

Two days before the match, Germany became the largest European Union country to legalise marijuana possession for recreational use.
After the change of law, it is now no longer illegal for people in the country to possess up to 25g of marijuana in public, whilst they're also allowed to even grow it at home.
