English singer and songwriter Jake Bugg has reached an agreement to become an official sponsor for League Two side Notts County next season.

The Nottingham-born musician, whose three albums have all reached the UK Top 5, has agreed to pay £15,000 to have his name plastered across the home and away kits.

Bugg used to go to watch the Magpies at Meadow Lane with his grandfather and remains a huge fan of the East Midlands club.

Commercial operations manager Simon Fotheringham told the club's website: "To attract someone of Jake Bugg's stature is a major coup. Add in the fact Jake's a massive Notts fan and it's a match made in heaven."

The 23-year-old is one of 10 sponsors who have agreed month-long deals with the club during the 2017/18 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, Jake's logo will appear on the front of the team's shirt during the month of November.

Each sponsor will see their logo appear on the front of the players shirts during their chosen month.

Other sponsors include Mace Sport, Premier Electrical Services, Sports Gateway, The Senator Group, Showcase, Eversheds Sutherland, Bassingfield Woodyard, Premier Facilities Maintenance and Paragon.

Fotheringham added: "We have spent the last few weeks working closely with each of the sponsors to tailor packages to suit their individual needs and in the coming months there will be exclusive competitions to help supporters engage with them all."
