Referee sends off two players during penalty shootout

There was a truly bizarre scene in the second round of the Coppa Italia with the unusual sight of two red cards during a penalty shootout.
The match between Modena and Monza on Saturday ended 0-0 after 120 minutes and had to be decided in a shootout.
Monza player Andrea Beduschi converted his spot-kick and made a vulgar gesture towards the crowd, which prompted the referee to send him off.
As if that weren't enough, Monza goalkeeper Sergio Viotti also saw red for kicking the ball away.
Leonardo Massoni therefore failed to convert his kick and then immediately went into the goal to save Alessandro Gatto's effort, but Modena eventually won the shootout 3-2.
