Greece and Hellas Verona defender Vangelis Moras is in Australia to donate bone marrow to save his ill brother Dimitris, who is suffering from leukemia.
Dimitris travelled to Australia from Greece in March to visit relatives but fell ill a week after his arrival, and was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
He has been undergoing chemotherapy at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and cannot return to Greece as he is in critical condition.
The bone marrow transplant is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
Vangelis, who recently signed a one-year contract extension with the Serie A club, has been sent a training program to follow while he is in Australia by Verona's fitness coaches.
