The hosts took the lead after 12 minutes thanks to Jens Toornstra's rifled shot, before Tonny Vilhena's effort was deflected home by Ruben Schaken to level things five minutes later.

Feyenoord went ahead a minute later through a superb backheeled effort from Pellè.

Daryl Janmaat raced down the right flank before whipping in a cross to the inside of Utrecht's penalty area.

Instead of trying to control the ball, Pellè unexpectedly pulled off a superb backheel touch from just six yards out.

The deft piece of skill caught everyone by surprise, including Utrecht goalkeeper Robbin Ruiter, who watched helplessly as the ball rolled into the goal.

Toornstra pulled Utrecht level on 22 minutes, but the remainder of the contest belonged to Feyenoord as goals from Stefan de Vrij, Schaken, and Vilhena helped the visitors march on to an emphatic victory.
