Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that the one regret from his glittering career was not winning the league title with his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.
The 28-year-old winger came through the youth ranks at the Lisbon giants and was asked by Portuguese sports daily Record about the possibility of one day returning there as a player.
Ronaldo said: "The only thing lacking on my resume is winning the league with Sporting.
"I don't know if that will happen, because nobody knows what the future will hold, but I would be very proud if that happened."
Madrid are once more targeting the Champions League this season, with the competition's final being held at Benfica's Estádio da Luz in May.
For Ronaldo, to lift the famous trophy on the pitch of his boyhood club's arch-rivals would be something special.
He added: "Winning the Champions League in da Luz would be the icing on the cake."
