Thierry Henry might not be an Arsenal legend had it not been for the chance encounter with Arsène Wenger on a plane trip to France.

After a solid start to his professional life at AS Monaco, Henry earned a move to Juventus in the winter of 1999 but only managed to score 3 goals in 16 appearances for the Italian giants.

As such, he decided to leave the Stadio Delle Alpi and look for a fresh move.

And it was a chance encounter with Wenger high above the skies of France that led to Henry's move to North London.

Speaking in a new documentary, Arsenal Legends, Henry said: "Sometimes destiny is weird.

"At the end of the season (in 1999) I went back to Paris and who was on the plane? The boss (Wenger) was on the plane.

"That's when I told him I would love to join Arsenal. After it, that's what happened."

The rest is history, Henry signing for the Gunners that summer for £10.5 million and went on to become Arsenal's all-time leading scorer with 228 goals in 377 games.
