AC Milan were grateful to Mario Balotelli as his 84th-minute free-kick was required to snatch a 2-2 draw away at Livorno.
On Massimiliano Allegri's 200th Serie A match, the Rossoneri hoped to continue their revival after two straight wins over Glasgow Celtic and Catania.
The visitors opened the scoring through Balotelli after just seven minutes but found themselves 2-1 down heading into the final stages of Saturday's game following goals from Luca Siligardi and Paulinho.
However, Balotelli got Milan back on level terms with an amazing free-kick in the last 10 minutes.
The Italy international was fouled 30 yards from goal and lifted himself up to fire an unstoppable free-kick that Francesco Bardi could get nowhere near in the Livorno goal.
"Balotelli had a great game and when he plays like that he is difficult to mark," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.
