Kaká scored a sensational goal on what was his return to the San Siro, but AC Milan couldn't hold out for all three points against Lazio on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old was given just his second league start of the season as Massimiliano Allegri made four changes from Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Parma.
Nine minutes into the second half, Kaká rolled back the clock with a stunning curling shot to put the Rossoneri ahead.
Receiving a short pass from Mario Balotelli on the edge of the area, the Brazilian unleashed a sumptuous curling effort beyond a helpless Federico Marchetti and into the top corner.
It was Kaká's first goal since returning to his beloved Milan from a disastrous spell at Real Madrid.
However, the goal was not enough to win the match as Michaël Ciani equalised with 18 minutes to go.
"It was a wonderful goal. I'm happy to have scored again at the San Siro," Kaká told Sky Sport Italia.
"I am pleased with the goal but disappointed with the result."
He added: "I've had some difficult moments in my career.
"For me it's great to be enjoying playing football again.
"I thank Milan and the Rossoneri fans for this second chance."
