Yarmolenko, who turned 24 on Wednesday, opened the scoring for the hosts on 35 minutes in some style.

Collecting the ball 25 yards out, the 24-year-old forward wrong-footed Sekou Sanogo Junior with a couple of step-overs before firing powerfully past Guillaume Faivre with his left foot.

Dieumerci Mbokani doubled the lead on the hour mark before Oleh Husyev made the game safe in the 78h minute.

"The main thing is that Yarmolenko netted a fabulous goal after his birthday. On behalf of the whole team I congratulate Andriy," Kyiv teammate Roman Bezus told the club's website.

Thun coach Urs Fischer added in his post-match conference: "Yarmolenko has demonstrated his skills and commitment to success. He was one of Dynamo best players."
