The agents of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have become involved in a war of words in the wake of the former signing a new contract with Real Madrid.
In seeing his client extend his Madrid deal at the weekend, Ronaldo's representative, Jorge Mendes, has dismissed talk that Neymar might be considered as good as the Portuguese forward.
"There is no way Neymar is as good as Cristiano Ronaldo," Mendes told O Globo. "That is my honest opinion and with all due respect to Neymar, who is a great footballer."
However, Neymar's agent has taken exception and offered his own view on the comparison.
"Neymar and Cristiano were born on the same day, February 5," Wagner Ribeiro wrote on Twitter.
"But at the age Neymar is now, Ronaldo was a mediocre player.
"Today he is only greater than Neymar in his weight."
