Within 24 hours of Tottenham Hotspur removing Gareth Bale from their Twitter page background, the Welshman's face has also disappeared from an NBC billboard in Times Square.
As part of NBC's promotion of their new Premier League broadcast deal, they recently put up a giant billboard with the image of Bale in Times Square in New York City.
The massive billboard, measuring 5,472 square feet, has been rented for one year.
Now, Bale is gone and a work from English street artist D*Face has replaced him.
While the art was always intended to change during the course of the season, Spurs fans are more likely to be concerned about the timing of the removal.
