The London-based firm will seek new sponsors and partners for Neymar, who recently agreed to join La Liga champions Barcelona, outside of Brazil until 2017.

"Our primary focus in the first stage will be on building Neymar's profile in Asia, where we believe there is real potential for growth," Simon Oliveira, managing director of Doyen Global, told Bloomberg.

"The next few years are pivotal in his career and we are honored to be working alongside him."

The deal was struck with Neymar's management company NR Sports. However, it remains unclear how the agreement affects the player's existing image rights deal with sports marketing firm 9ine.

"We are excited to be working with Neymar Jr, his father and their team," added Oliveira in a statement.

"Not only is he a special talent, he has incredible charisma and a desire to work hard to maximise his potential."

Neymar has sponsorship deals in place with Nike, Volkswagen, Red Bull, Claro and Unilever, among others.

"I'm pleased to work with Doyen," said the 21-year-old Brazil international in a statement. "They will add to my team and we look forward to working with them."
