Manchester City fans have repaid the favour to sacked manager Roberto Mancini by placing a "Grazie Mancini" advert in Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport.
When Mancini took out a full-page ad in the Manchester Evening News thanking fans for their support, it was soon agreed by supporters that the act would be reciprocated.
One fan Adam Keyworth started an online campaign to raise the £7,000 needed for buying some space in the famous Italian sports paper.
More than 700 fans raised more than the required fund with any surplus money will be donated to local Manchester charities.
And the advert, telling Mancini Per sempre uno di noi (Once a blue, always a blue), finally appeared in Tuesday's edition of the famous pink paper.
