Table of Contents
Summer signings Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa scored their first goals for Manchester United to help them to a 3-2 nervy win over Fulham at Old Trafford.
The visitors silenced Old Trafford after just three minutes when Damien Duff turned home a well-worked free-kick routine.
But United were level seven minutes later as van Persie swept home Patrice Evra's cross on the volley before Kagawa gave United a 2-1 lead with a close-range finish in the 35th minute.
Rafael headed United into a 3-1 advantage before half-time, but a calamitous mix-up saw United skipper Nemanja Vidić divert the ball into his own net with 25 minutes to go.
