Goal of the day: Mikel Arteta (Arsenal) vs Man City
Table of Contents
Mikel Arteta's late winner at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday gave Arsenal a 1-0 victory over Manchester City and left the Citizens' title hopes in tatters.
Arsène Wenger's side hit the woodwork on several occasions as it seemed the Gunners would never find the net.
But five minutes from time, Arsenal finally made the breakthrough - and effectively gift-wrapped the championship for title-chasers Manchester United.
Arteta robbed David Pizarro in midfield and drove towards the City area before unleashing a sublime effort from 25 yards into the bottom right corner of the Joe Hart's net.
"It's always difficult when you play a team like Manchester City," Arteta told Sky Sports after the match.
"When you get ten chances, you have to take three or four of them because they've got the quality up front to create trouble for you, but we did it at the end.
"As soon as I saw the space and I saw the centre-back coming towards me, I just said I have to strike it and it went into the back of the net."
