Premier League: Chelsea 2-1 Wigan
Table of Contents
Wigan Athletic were unlucky not to come away with anything at Chelsea as Juan Mata's injury-time goal earned the home side a dramatic 2-1 win.
After a dour first half at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea broke the deadlock just past the hour mark, but Branislav Ivanović's goal was shrouded in controversy with the defender clearly offside when he put the ball in the net.
Wigan were furious but fought back valiantly, substitute Mohamed Diamé firing a rocket into the bottom corner from outside the area after being fed by Ben Watson.
It looked like Wigan would hold on for a point, but Mata scored in stoppage time to seal the win, although there was a hint of offside about the winner as well.
