Goal of the day: Ismaïl Aissati (Ajax) vs PSV
Table of Contents
A wonder strike by Ismaïl Aissati inspired Ajax Amsterdam to 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie on Sunday.
Ajax made a dominant start to proceedings at the Amsterdam ArenA, but they failed to create any real goalscoring opportunities.
After the half-time break, the Amsterdam giants continued to mount pressure on the visitors and eventually broke the deadlock in the 56th minute through Aissati's moment of magic.
A quick free-kick from Christian Eriksen was played to the 23-year-old who took aim from the left side and pinned his effort to the top right corner of the goal.
One quickly became two when Siem de Jong scored from the penalty spot Aissati was brought down by Marcelo inside the area.
"Before the break, the last push to hurt PSV was missing," Ajax coach Frank de Boer told the club's website.
"If that last push is missing, then you need to have luck on your side. I thought that Ismaïl meant to pass the ball."
