Table of Contents
Neymar scored a hat-trick for Santos in its 3-1 win over Internacional the group stage of the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday, but his second will make all the headlines.
The highly rated young striker opened the scoring from the penalty spot 18 minutes into the match at Estádio Vila Belmiro.
And it was his second goal which the 2011 FIFA Puskás Award winner would amaze spectators.
Nine minutes after the restart, Neymar picked the ball up in his own half and ran directly into the opposition penalty area, slaloming past three defenders on his way, before slipping a shot past the charging goalkeeper.
Leandro Damião reduced the deficit in the 64th minute, but within two minutes Neymar completed his treble to restore the two-goal lead.
"I cannot explain what I did tonight. I need to watch the TV to see what I did on the field. I knew I dribbled past a lot of rivals. That's the only thing I know," Neymar told Globo TV.
