Demba Ba grabbed a Halloween hat-trick as Newcastle United won 3-1 at Stoke City to move up third in the Premier League standings.
The Senegal international opened the scoring with a well-taken header on 12 minutes and he doubled his tally before half-time when he side-footed home from close range after Leon Best scuffed his back-post effort.
Stoke were given a lifeline when Jon Walters converted from the penalty spot in the 75th minute, but Ba completed his hat-trick from the spot six minutes later to seal the result.
