Arsenal are reportedly on the verge of signing Park Chu-Young after the AS Monaco forward failed to show up for the second part of a medical with French champions Lille.
Lille were convinced they had all but wrapped up a deal for the South Korea captain before Arsenal made their move.
Reports on Saturday suggested Park had agreed terms with Lille and had completed the first part of a medical but failed to show up for the second part.
It is understood that the 26-year-old is to undergo a medical with the Gunners in the next 24 hours, ahead of finalizing a move to England.
"We haven't had a telephone call, nothing," raged Lille president Michel Seydoux in L'Équipe.
"From what we understand he could be at Arsenal.
"Like Monaco, Lille are baffled. Everything had been agreed.
"This type of behaviour is not acceptable, in any event it doesn't correspond with the spirit here at Lille."
