AC Milan closing in on Alberto Aquilani

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed the club are in talks about a deal for unsettled Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.
Aquilani has been continually linked with a move back to his homeland this summer with the midfielder not figuring in Kenny Dalglish's long-term plans at Anfield.
The 27-year-old spent last season back in his native Italy with a loan spell at Juventus, before returning to Merseyside earlier in the summer.
Juventus declined to sign Aquilani on a permanent basis because of his price-tag, while the former AS Roma schemer pulled out of a move to Fiorentina earlier this summer because he demanded a permanent deal rather than another loan switch.
It now seems Milan are ready to grant Aquilani's wishes of a permanent transfer as they look to bolster their midfield options after being frustrated in their attempts to land Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo.
"We are negotiating for Aquilani," Berlusconi told reporters while attending the club's 2-1 win over Juventus in the Trofeo Berlusconi. "I like him a lot, he's an interesting player.
"I've spoken about this with (Milan vice-president Adriano) Galliani and (Milan coach Massimiliano) Allegri. We will see."
