Zamparini believes Pastore, who turned 22 this week, will become one of the best players in the world in the next few years.

He told reporters: "Pastore is worth two Neymars. He is one of those who will win the Ballon d'Or in the coming years. He is a champion.

"Like him there are only (Lionel) Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, (Andrés) Iniesta, (Wayne) Rooney - and this quality player is only 22 years old."

The highly-rated playmaker, who is under contract at Palermo until 2015, is a target of top European clubs, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City all reportedly in the race to sign him.

Zamparini added: "I spoke with his agent on Wednesday and there are six or seven clubs on him, a couple have backing from the sheikhs.

"He is destined for a great team and in the end I think he will head to England or Spain."
