Manchester United advanced to the Champions League final against Barcelona after a 4-1 victory over Schalke 04 at Old Trafford that wrapped up a 6-1 aggregate success.
Already leading 2-0 from the one-sided first leg in Gelsenkirchen, goals by Antonio Valencia in the 26th minute and Darron Gibson five minutes later put the Red Devils further on course for Wembley on 28th May in a repeat of the 2009 showpiece.
José Manuel Jurado pulled one back for the dismal Bundesliga outfit soon after, but Anderson scored a quick-fire brace in the 72nd and 76th minutes to crush any Schalke hopes of an improbable comeback.
