Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is certain to leave Schalke 04 in the summer after deciding not to renew his contract amid interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
Neuer's current deal runs until the summer of 2012 and Schalke remain eager to hold on to the Germany international, who has been repeatedly linked with both Bayern and United this season.
"I've told the Schalke directors that I won't sign a contract extension," Neuer wrote on his Facebook page.
"I've come to this decision without other people trying to influence me. All the other speculation doesn't have any basis.
"I'm very grateful to Schalke and the fans, but I want to keep my options open after 20 years at the club.
"Now I want to focus on achieving our goals this term!"
