Louis van Gaal to exit Bayern Munich in summer

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have confirmed they will part company with under-fire coach Louis van Gaal at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
The club's board met with van Gaal on Monday morning and they appear to have come to a mutual decision to go their separate ways at the end of the season.
Initially it had been thought the Dutchman would be sacked in the wake of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Hannover 96, which came hot on the heels of defeats in the Bundesliga to Borussia Dortmund and in the DFB-Pokal semi-finals to Schalke 04.
And although he will remain in charge in the short-term, van Gaal's current deal which is due to end next summer will be dissolved 12 months early.
Executive chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said at a press conference: "We are in a situation that concerns us all.
"We have suffered three defeats in a week which have jeopardised our targets for the season.
"The board had a chat with Louis van Gaal this morning and have analysed our situation together with him.
"And despite the fact that in a few months we will go down separate paths we are all in agreement that we have the will to work together to achieve our minimum objectives."
