Bad boy Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano has offered an olive branch to club president Riccardo Garrone by apologising live on Italian TV.

The Italy international's career at Doria hangs in the balance following reports of an altercation with Garrone.

It has been suggested Sampdoria have asked Italian footballing authorities for permission to terminate Cassano's contract, with the forward left out of Sunday's squad to face Cesena.

But now Cassano, who has often fallen out with coaches, team-mates and footballing authorities in the past, has begged for a second chance.

Speaking exclusively to Premium Football Club, the Bari-born ace said: "I take responsibility for my actions, but I want to stay in Genoa.

"There was a disagreement with the president, in which I used the wrong tone, but I ask for forgiveness in front of all of Italy.

"I want to stay at Sampdoria, I have said that in the past, I am saying it now and will always say it. I want to end my career in Blucerchiato.

"What more can I do than say sorry? I just don't know. They are making me out to be some sort of terrorist.

"I'm sad to have put my teammates in such a difficult situation, even if they did well to net an important victory against Cesena."
