Olympique Lyon have one foot in the knockout stages of the Champions League after a 2-0 victory over 10-man Benfica at Stade Gerland.
The hosts broke the deadlock in the 21st minute as Jimmy Briand headed home Michel Bastos' cross before Benfica went down to ten men at the end of the first half when Nicolás Gaitán was dismissed for a second bookable offense.
And Lyon made their numerical advantage count six minutes after the break with Lisandro López scoring from close-range after his initial headed effort was saved.
