Chelsea completed on Friday the signing of Brazil international Ramires from Portuguese outfit Benfica for a fee thought to be around £18 million.
The 23-year-old midfielder has joined the English champions on a four-year contract having granted a work permit and passed a medical.
"Every player in the world would love to play for Chelsea and it's a great opportunity that was given to me," Ramires told the club's official website.
"I will give my best to repay this chance, and I am very happy."
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti added: "He is a fantastic player, a fantastic midfielder, he is very young and will be the future of the Brazilian national team, and I hope he will be the future of Chelsea."
Ramires becomes Chelsea's second signing of the summer, having bought Israeli international midfielder Yossi Benayoun for £5 million from Liverpool.
