Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson claims that neither Inter Milan nor Barcelona have tabled a bid for Javier Mascherano despite tracking the midfielder for months.
The Argentina captain has made no secret of his desire to leave Anfield, encouraging talk of a move to Italy or Spain through his agent.
Christian Poulsen's arrival from Juventus has also led to speculation that the Denmark international has been brought in to replace Mascherano.
However, Hodgson insists the club have still to receive an offer for the battling midfielder.
He said: "As yet we have not received any offers. There are two weeks in the transfer window to go. Some clubs like to come in at the last minute.
"The fact is we want to keep him here and we will keep him here unless we get a correct offer, one that is right for his value and one that it would be wrong to turn down because we've told him if it's a right offer then we would accept it.
"At the moment, it is not there, not on the horizon."
