The Brazilian-born Portuguese international was expected to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge earlier this summer as he did not feature in manager Carlo Ancelotti's plans for the 2010/11 campaign.

Deco himself had admitted that he wanted to his Brazilian roots and see out his playing days in the land of his birth, and is now set to fulfil his ambition.

A statement on Fluminense's official website read: "The vice president of Fluminense, Alcides Antunes, has officially signed Deco from Chelsea.

"After intense negotiations, the player, who participated in two World Cups for the Portugal national team, got his release from the English club and will sign a two-year contract with the Tricolor.

"Deco will be officially presented to the press at 12:30 (local time) on Monday."

The 32-year-old will now link-up with former Chelsea team-mate Belletti, who moved to Fluminense earlier in the summer.
