Liverpool announced on Monday that England midfielder Joe Cole has joined the club on a four-year contract from Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The 28-year-old trained with his new team-mates in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland, on Tuesday morning and is due to undergo his medical in the afternoon.
Cole's contract at Stamford Bridge expired at the end of June and he has subsequently left the club as a free agent after failing to reach a new agreement with the Blues.
The former West Ham ace turned down the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal to move to Anfield on a free transfer following weekend talks with new Reds boss Roy Hodgson.
A statement on the Liverpool's website read: "Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Cole on a four-year deal.
"The England midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Reds and will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours."
