AC Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed the club are looking to hire a new coach to replace the departing Leonardo after just one season at the helm.
Leonardo's future has been thrown into doubt in recent weeks, as the trainer is reported to be unhappy with the criticism being directed towards him from the upper echelons of the Rossoneri hierarchy.
The Brazilian refused to discuss his future this week after a defeat to Palermo left Milan unable to clinch the title, but Berlusconi has now announced that the search for a replacement is underway.
Berlusconi told Il Corriere dello Sport: "Yes he will leave, we are working on a new coach.
"Leonardo has been too tough headed and the team has played badly this season."
When asked whether Milan have a replacement ready, he added: "Negotiations are in progress."
Milan have reportedly lined up Mauro Tassotti and Filippo Galli as his replacements.
