James Milner not going to Man United - Martin O'Neill
Table of Contents
Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill has denied "ludicrous" reports suggesting James Milner will join Manchester United in the summer.
The Northern Irishman this week saw rumours circulate over his future at Villa Park, amid allegations of a fall-out with owner Randy Lerner over Milner’s future.
But while O’Neill admits that the England international would be a decent signing for the Red Devils, he is staying with the Villans.
He said: "There was a story that I had fallen out with the chairman because of a supposedly imminent transfer of James Milner to Manchester United.
"James would be worthy of playing in a side like that. I wouldn't think for one minute that top clubs wouldn't be interested in James Milner.
"He has been splendid for us this season but there is not one ounce of truth in the story. It is ludicrous."
