Ryan Babel's future at Liverpool looks to be in doubt after the Dutchman was left out of the squad that travelled to Stoke City - and decided to post it on his Twitter page.

Writing on his Twitter account, Babel said: "Hey people, I've got some disappointing news - I'm not travelling to Stoke. The boss left me out of the squad. No explanation."

Later in the afternoon, he added: "What happened after a first good season? Scoring 10 goals, being young talent of the year, and then second and this season don't play at all?"

Babel was not finished and later wrote: "Where did it go wrong??? You have people who support me and don't support me ...

"And one day, you will see what I'm capable off, will it be at LFC or somewhere else ... I have faith."

The news is sure to fuel speculation that Babel will leave Liverpool before the end of the month with Birmingham understood to be leading the chase for the winger.

The 23-year-old is the latest in a growing list of players to have fallen foul of their coaches due to their activities on Twitter.

Sunderland striker Darren Bent went public with his unhappiness at the protracted nature of his move from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
