Anfield legend Robbie Fowler has revealed how playing for Liverpool meant "everything" to him.

Revered by Kopites - who christened him 'God' - the Toxteth Terror terrified opponents, netting 183 goals in 369 appearances during two stints with the Reds between 1993-2001 and 2005-07.

"Liverpool will always be my club," Fowler told The Daily Mail.

"Playing for them was everything, growing up there and then scoring goals for them.

"I always say to people who are at clubs they genuinely love that they must make sure they enjoy it because it doesn't last forever. Some time your number is up and you have to move on.

"When it happened to me I wasn't really ready for it."
