José Antonio Reyes has recalled his playing days with Arsenal, claiming his spell in England was a learning experience which made him mature as a person.
The Atlético Madrid forward returned to the country, where he spent two seasons with the Gunners before being loaned to Real Madrid, when Los Colchoneros met Chelsea last Wednesday.
"Playing in England was a massive experience for me," the 26-year-old told the News of the World.
"Even if people don't think I made it here, I grew up as a human being and learnt a lot.
"Anyway, I keep good memories of my spell with Arsenal, which is a club I'll always respect.
"Playing in this country was an opportunity. But I was homesick and decided to move back to Spain."
