Craig Bellamy hits pitch invader after Manchester derby

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy could face an FA charge after appearing to punch a fan who invaded the pitch during yesterday's Manchester derby.
If the allegation is proved, the fiery Welshman - who has endured plenty of disciplinary trouble in the past - could find himself in trouble, even though it is against the law for supporters to go onto the field of play.
Bellamy struck out after a Manchester United supporter came on to the pitch after Michael Owen's stoppage-time winner in United's 4-3 victory at Old Trafford.
When quizzed about the incident by the Manchester Evening News after the game, City boss Mark Hughes said: "I did not see it but the guy should not have been on the pitch. That is not acceptable.
"I seem to recall Brian Clough clipping someone around the ear and he was lauded as a national hero. Maybe it will be the same with Craig but I doubt it. I'm sure people will make a nuisance of it."
