Joleon Lescott completed a big-money move to Manchester City from Everton on Tuesday, bringing an end to a protracted transfer saga.
The 27-year-old has signed a five-year contract – understood to be worth up to £94,000 a week – after completing a medical and agreeing personal terms on Monday.
The move ends City's long pursuit of the England international with Lescott becoming Mark Hughes' seventh signing of the summer at cash-rich Eastlands club.
"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Joleon to Manchester City," Hughes told the club's official website.
"He is an England international who has proved his Premier League ability during his time at Everton.
"In bringing Joleon to the club I feel we have recruited a defender of the very highest quality.
"He can play in a number of defensive positions, and I'm positive he will make a significant impact for us."
