Franck Ribéry 'shuts door' to summer move

Bayern Munich star Franck Ribéry has denied that he ever attempted to engineer a move to Real Madrid and insists he is staying at the Allianz Arena.

The France international has been the subject of intense speculation all summer and Bayern have also previously confirmed offers from Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea.

But while there has been some encouragement that he is keen to move to Spain, Ribéry claims he has not tried to force a transfer and has no intention of moving on in the near future.

He told Telefoot: "I never said I wanted to go to Real Madrid.

"If I had wanted to leave, I would have said so. What bothers me is that I have never spoken about it.

"I cannot stop clubs making offers. It was not just Real - there was also Barcelona, Manchester (United) and Chelsea.

"What I can tell them is that today I am still at Bayern. The door are truly shut.

"My bosses really want me to stay."

Ribéry's comments are in contrast to those made recently by his agent, Alain Migliaccio, who stated, "Franck would rather play for Real Madrid than Barcelona, and the player has spoken to Zinedine Zidane."
