Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has confirmed that Real Madrid are interested in Gaetano D’Agostino.
The Italian midfielder was close to a switch to Juventus this summer before talks broke down over Udinese's asking price.
In the last 24 hours, Real have emerged with a surprise swoop for the former AS Roma man.
"There are negotiations about the player taking place," Pozzo told Sportmediaset.it. "In the next few days there will be other meetings.
"In any case, the price of the player will not change. He is worth €25 million, like it was for Juventus."
D’Agostino, who is under contract with the Friuli outfit until June 2014, would love to play at the Bernabéu.
"It is a dream for every player to play at Real Madrid," he told Onda Cero. "That is why I feel nervous and excited.
"I thank Real Madrid for their interest, I am happy, but there is nothing official just yet."
