Argentinian forward Rodrigo Palacio has joined Genoa from Boca Juniors for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal after passing his medical.

"I am very happy," Palacio told the club's official website.

"Genoa are a great club and this is a wonderful opportunity for me. I think playing at Marassi will feel like the Bombonera in Buenos Aires."

Palacio joined Boca in 2005 from Banfield, scoring 55 league goals in a four-year spell which saw him win the Apertura title in 2005 and 2008, the Clausura in 2006 and the Copa Libertadores in 2007.

Genoa, who will compete in the Europa League next season, have also signed Robert Acquafresca, Francesco Bolzoni, Houssine Kharja and Ivan Fatić to their squad this summer.

They have been busy in the transfer market this summer after the losses of Diego Milito and Thiago Motta to Inter Milan, but with the strength of their replacements so far they can be confident about their chances next season both domestically and in Europe.
