Emmanuel Adebayor has claimed that he left Arsenal because of his poor relationship with the club’s fans.
The Togo striker completed his £25 million move to Manchester City last weekend after signing a five-year contract.
Twelve months ago Adebayor was pursued by a host of top European clubs last summer but, despite turning down a move away from the Emirates, Arsenal fans booed him and accused him of having no loyalty towards the club.
"The way the fans behaved towards me was not nice at all," Adebayor told The Sun.
"I can't understand why they were after me. I did my best for them and I was very happy there.
"I scored 30 goals in a season - it's not my fault that AC Milan, Barcelona or Real Madrid wanted to sign me.
"In any summer, Barcelona try to sign Cesc Fábregas. But the fans never turned on him."
