Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have agreed on an undisclosed fee for the transfer of Brazil captain Lúcio.

The 31-year-old, whose contract was due to expire next summer, is now due to undergo a medical in Lombardy before all the transfer formalities can be completed.

Both clubs have refused to release the financial details involved in the transfer.

"Lúcio is transferring immediately to Inter Milan and will receive a three-year contract there," Bayern general manager Uli Hoeneß told a press conference.

"The clubs have reached an agreement and the player is also in agreement with Inter.

"After the Confederations Cup, it was his express wish to leave Bayern if a major club came in for him.

"Naturally, we’re sad he’s leaving the club. Lúcio has put in outstanding work here."

Lúcio joined Bayern from Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen in 2004 and played 144 times for the record German champions, winning three league and German Cup doubles.
