Paris St Germain have signed former France goalkeeper Grégory Coupet for €1 million from Atlético Madrid.
The 36-year-old has returned to his homeland on a two-year contract after losing the battle with Leo Franco to become Los Rojiblancos' first-choice in goal.
"I'm coming from a huge failure in sporting terms because I did not play at Atlético Madrid," he told Le Parisien.
"Instead of getting me down, this increased my desire to play tenfold.
"Playing matches is my life. I was born for this. I need the adrenaline of games.
"I needed to be deprived of playing for me to understand what a competitor I was."
