Uruguayan defender Diego Lugano has expressed his desire to ply his trade in Serie A with his Fenerbahçe deal coming to an end.
Lugano has long been linked with the likes of AC Milan and Lazio and it now appears AS Roma have joined the hunt to sign the 28-year-old.
The Giallorossi are keen to add some reinforcements to their defence for the coming season.
"I want to play in Europe and the Italian championship is at the top of my ambitions," Lugano told forzaroma.it.
"My contract with Fenerbahçe is at an end and I am now studying some proposals from a number of clubs that contacted me a while a go.
"Roma are among these clubs. We will see what happens."
