Juventus striker Amauri has revealed he will receive an Italian passport in early September, making him eligible for a call up to the Italian national team.
The 29-year-old was born in Brazil but has lived in Italy for nine years and has an Italian wife, Cynthia.
Having never made an appearance for the Brazilian national team he could play for the Azzurri once he obtains Italian citizenship.
"On the first of September I will have an Italian passport and this for me is already and honour," Amauri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I have been living here for ten years and I am happy.
"To play for Italy would be a way to repay all that this country has given me."
