Ricardo Quaresma insists he is not joining Genoa and will remain at Inter Milan despite fans' disapproval.

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi revealed on Tuesday he was close to wrapping up a deal for Quaresma and striker Hernán Crespo.

However, Quaresma, who joined Inter from FC Porto in a big-money move last summer, has stressed he is determined to stay at the San Siro to finally prove his worth.

He told A BOLA: "I will return to Inter.

"My agent has told me of alternatives, including in Italy, but I have told him I do not want anything but to return to Inter. I am not afraid of the pressure or the whistles.

"I owe president (Massimo) Moratti, who spent so much on me. I also owe (coach José) Mourinho, who wanted me and fought hard for my move to Inter to be possible.

"I also want to show everyone at Inter that my signing was not, I repeat, was not a mistake."
