Olympique Marseille have confirmed that former player Didier Deschamps will take over as coach from Eric Gerets next season.
It has also been confirmed that Deschamps has agreed to a two-year contract and will start in June.
Current boss Gerets has previously announced he was stepping down at the end of the season.
Deschamps, who captained Marseille to Champions League triumph in 1993, had two spells at the club as a player between 1989-90 and 1991-94.
A statement on Marseille's website, www.om.net, said: "Deschamps will be coach next season.
"After Gerets, the club could only fix their choice on a coach of the highest standard to continue the great work already accomplished.
"Based on our criteria, the choice of Didier Deschamps, whose career as a player and a coach works largely in his favour, naturally won over."
