Der Kaiser favours to sign van Gaal

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has dropped hints that AZ Alkmaar boss Louis van Gaal is the main candidate to become the club's new coach.
Bayern fired Jürgen Klinsmann on Monday and hired veteran Jupp Heynckes to take charge for the final five games of the season, with a new coach to be signed after that.
And Kicker magazine reported on Thursday that van Gaal was the top candidate for the job.
The former Ajax and Barcelona coach has just won the Eredivisie with AZ.
"He's shown that often enough, with the Dutch national team, with Barcelona, with Ajax," Beckenbauer told the DSF sports television channel.
"We went through a list of coaches at the start of the week, we cut it short relatively quickly and now we'll establish contact. We'll see what comes out of it in the next few weeks."
